He would merely be the vehicle to do what the House of Commons has passed into law. He would not be deciding actual policy.

The problem with waiting for Johnson is that he wants the UK to exit without a deal and does not care what the consequences are.

The Benn bill will be reinforced to prevent No deal and Johnson will be legally obliged to seek an extension.

If he doesn’t comply he will be breaking the law and removed from office.

There have been far too many constitutional shenigans already, the gown up a just need to play this with a straight bat.

What is your opinion of Johnson using murdered politician Jo Cox in his speech?

Entirely typical of the man.

No argument from me on that.

Boris Johnson’s own brother resigned because he couldn’t support Johnson’s actions over Brexit. Now his sister has been even more damning in her criticism of Boris Johnson’s behaviour.

Johnson has now lost 8 votes out of 8 with him as PM.

The Speaker of the House of Commons has confirmed that the earliest that an election can be held under the current regulations/laws would be in November. This is after the Brexit deadline.

His sister also suggested he is wilting under pressure from shady characters Who have been shorting the pound.

Going to be a rather awkward Christmas dinner round the Johnson house this year.

I don’t know much about his sister and her political views but what she had to say about Johnson’s behaviour in the Commons last night was very damning.

I think that it is more likely that Johnson will face a vote of no confidence sooner rather than later. His unwillingness to obey the laws of the land is hastening his demise.

The similarities between Trump and Johnson continue. B Johnson has claimed that the government has “cleared up the debt”.

What is the current UK debt? Around 1.8 trillion pound.

He also said that they will build 40 new hospitals in the next 10 years. If you believe that you will believe that D Trump will win next year’s Olympic 100 metres final in 9.0 seconds.

Boris Johnson’s speech at the Tory party conference was awful.

Reported on the BBC Johnson will send “Brexit extension request” letter:

Boris is up to something. He maintains the UK is leaving the EU on 10/31.

I have no idea what it is and some of the sharpest politicaly analysts in the UK dont either but I have a feeling he could actually end up either defying the odds and getting a deal or leaving with no deal.

For all his foppish, bon vivant image Johnson is an incredibly intelligent political operator. People underestimate him at their peril.

I agree that Trump and Johnson have many similar traits. One area where they differentiate is that unlike Trump Johnson is smart.

In my opinion, the opposition parties need to come to a consensus who will lead an interim government when a motion of no confidence is put and carried in the House of Commons next Tuesday forcing Johnson to tender his government’s resignation. Once the interim PM is sworn in a letter should be sent to the EU requesting an extension and once granted the requisite general election legislation should be passed in the Commons.

Corbyn will be a disaster for the UK. Funny thing is that Corbyn for his whole political career has been staunchly anti EU.

But unless they can get the Lib Dems on board all talk of an interim government is just talk.

Looking at Parliament over the past few months I think your prediction is just a bit to tidy. This is not going to be all wrapped up next week.

The talk is that Johnson will request a prorogation of parliament after next Tuesday’s session. If that occurs Johnson will have had one PMQ since he became PM.

From what I understand the stumbling block is who would become interim PM. Corbyn wants it to be him which is not supported by the Lib Dems and the ex-Tories. I can understand why Corbyn thinks it should be him but if they want to ensure that no-deal is 100% taken off the table the Labour Party may have to accept that the interim PM is either the father or mother of the House.

Of course, it is my opinion and Western Australia is a long way from the UK.

So much for how brilliant Boris Johnson is in getting a deal.

. @ BorisJohnson , what’s at stake is not winning some stupid blame game. At stake is the future of Europe and the UK as well as the security and interests of our people. You don’t want a deal, you don’t want an extension, you don’t want to revoke, quo vadis?

Well Saturday is decision day in the House of Commons. There is a special sitting of the Commons on that day to vote on Johnson’s Brexit deal. Given the DUP have said they can’t support it; Labour Party support for it likely to be virtual none and ex-Tories who lost their whips unlikely to support it either, it is highly doubtful that Johnson will have a majority in the Commons.
