Counties that voted heavily for Trump had a 3x higher covid death rate than counties that voted heavily for Biden. The redder a county the higher the covid death rate.
METHODOLOGY
- County-level 2020 Population data via U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Census
- County-level 2020 Trump vote data via each state’s Election Commission or Secretary of State websites
- County-level Case & Death data via Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science & Engineering for 47 states; NY Times COVID-10 in the United States github for NE & UT only; & the White House COVID-19 Team Community Profile Report for Florida only.
- Remember: “Decile” means 1/10th or 10% of the total population (all 50 states + DC).
Using the same methodology but replacing Trump vs Biden votes with vaccination rate you get an almost mirror image graph. The higher the vaccination rate in a county the lower the death rate from covid.

Personally, I think dictating to private companies and local school boards how they should respond to a global pandemic is pretty egregious and not at all conservative.

A mistake? How forgiving you are. Even I knew based on what was going on in Europe that this was a virus that targeted the elderly.
Put the COVID positive in nursing homes as well. Banned buying seeds so people couldn’t plant a garden, etc.
This is where you are in error. He did not dictate to private companies. He made it so private companies could not dictate to their employees or force them by threating their livelihoods to take a vaccination they were unsure of.
THAT is the what conservatives do. Allow people the freedom to choose.

He made it against the law for a private business owner to run their business as they saw fit.
You can explain it away anyway that you want, but the simple truth is, he told owners and school boards how to run their businesses and schools.

You’re incorrect. He made it against the law for private business owners to require their employees to take the vaccine.
All businesses could put safety measures in place. They could require masks, etc. But to make them, force them, to get the vaccination was off the table.
I’m actually curious at how many times I’ve read the left hate on corporations but on this? Give them a pass.
Hey, I get you are a big mask and vaccination guy and I have no problem with that. You do what is right for you. I will do what is right for me and truly you should respect my decisions as much as I respect yours.

What did we really have to lose being over child bearing age?
A lot to potentially lose if below or of child bearing age because there were too many unknowns.
It was a risk/reward analysis and the individual should be able to make that decision.

In my area, schools still had a virtual option in 21. Which believe me, is full of costs and problems too, but certainly helps keep covid cases down.
What did you have to lose being child bearing age? My daughter and son got the vaccine. My sister in law, just had a baby and got pregnant after taking both doses

At the time the vaccine was being promoted, not enough was known about it and the long term effects.
What a nice way to put it! 
It was just a matter of time till they recieved orders to go after DeSantis just like they do Trump.
