Also, I think low poll numbers are the new normal. In the good old days, you would see R’s admitting D’s were doing okay, and vice versa.

But in these hyper partisan times, there is nothing that one side will give credit for to the other side.

We started seeing this phenomena during Obama, and it reached full flower during Trump. That is why his average approval remained remarkably consistent at ~ 41 to 42%.

In short, cons can pin their hopes on Biden’s low approval, but it is futile.
