If the maximum sentence allowable under the law for a felony (like say, first time offense of possession of stolen property valued over $500 in pre-2004 Kansas) is less than one year, the felon did not lose his right to purchase, own, and bear firearms.

Ok so just from a nerdy lawyer perspective

A misdemeanor is deifned in law as any crime where under the law you can only receive less than a year and a day

A felony is any crime where under the law you can receive only more than a year and a day.

If there are laws out there that convict you of a felony while allowing only for a sentence for leas than a year and a day then they are poorly written lol.

I believe that’s why Kansas changed their minimum sentencing laws around 2004 or so. It was probably also a post 9-11 power grab like the multitudes of others.

No it isn’t, the standard for use of lethal force has never changed, threat of imminent grave personal injury or death to you or others. An unarmed woman posed no such threat to anyone.

Zimmerman murdered an unarmed man and the forum strongly supported him.

Which one of those people is Ashli? Who is in imminent danger of grave injury or death?

Nobody is claiming that some bad ■■■■ went down between a few of the protesters and some of the cops, but there has been zero evidence to show that Ashli was involved in any of that and there is video evidence to show that she was not threatening anyone with injury or death at the time she was shot. So just quit trying to make that case with peripheral ■■■■■ It does NOT make your case.

Mob storms the Capitol. Mob brutally attacks police and smashes windows and barricades to get in. Mob almost breaches last defense before getting to elected officials. Ashli was the first person through that last defense. She gets shot to protect Congress.

We have been over this numerous times. She wasn’t shot for the actions of others in the mob, she was shot for what she was doing at the time she was shot. Which by the video evidence available to us, was sticking her head through a broken out window. The evidence also shows that members of Congress were not imminently in any danger. And the evidence also shows that armed SWAT police were in immediate proximity to the small group that you claim was about to “breach the last defense.” Your argument is emotional hogwash and you know it.

Why do conservatives consistently think that the riots of 2020 did not result in arrests, jail time and fines? Conservatives act as if all of those riots were done with no consequences to the perps. It is just not true.
