NO!!!
Striking is a choice as the OP stated. Plus, they know ahead of time if a strike is possible…save some of those union wages!
What happened with needing to flood the nation with millions and millions and millions of people because of all of the great paying jobs out there? Part of the narrative of the left is that none of these people need any public assistance.
To hell with people choosing not to work for a temporary period of time.
I do think SNAP benefits should be expanded though. Also narrowed down to prohibit its use on junk food. Whole foods only.
Why didn’t Democrats push this when they controlled congress and the Presidency? It looks like a gimmick to win back some union voters.
That’s what I was thinking. This is dumb.
I agree 100%. But isn’t everything we do a choice? How many people are on SNAP through no fault of their own? It should be every one of them.
One could argue life choices for the adults, the kids are innocent victims in most cases.
Considering how many Republicans want to fight tooth and nail to preserve spending is anyone really surprised?

Agreed. But the same applies to striking union member’s kids.
Now…will Republicans unite and stop this fiscal insanity or is it same-o, same-o? “We” will see.

100% agree, but the one major difference here is the parent is voluntarily walking off the job.
Not just â– â– â– â– â– â– circumstances.

Yep. There is a distinct difference, but no more the child’s fault. I’m by no means making an argument to pay them. I think it should be more strict for everyone. It’s my opinion if you make a choice to not work at all, and are not disabled, that’s no different than a striking worker.
Agree 100%

This is a prime example of how you’re nothing but a part of the problem.

The only fats kids around when I was young were the people actually born with die-beetus. This world of fat bodies and flappy limbs disgusts me. They put actual trash in their mouths and swallow it.

I can’t talk, when I was younger I was working in warehousing picking food orders and that kept me in great shape, when I met my wife I had a 32" waist and jn her words “hot”, well ovee the years between my knees getting worse and being lazy, well, lets just say I need to lose 60 lbs. Don’t eat a lot of junk, have tried working out but knees and cervical spine said nope.
That said, if someone is getting food assistance, it should NOT be allowed for candy, pop (soda for you snobs), convience store “hot foods”, only things that should be eligible should be fresh fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, juices. Not prepackaged “just heat n serve” type foods.
