Potential Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi slammed the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions this week; conveniently ignoring her calls for the senior Trump aide’s removal in March 2017.
Pelosi weighed-in on Sessions’ abrupt resignation on social media just minutes after his announcement, saying “It is impossible to read Attorney General Sessions’ firing as anything other than another blatant attempt by @realDonaldTrump to undermine & end Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation.”
Pelosi’s comments are in stark contrast to her heated rhetoric early last year, when she demanded Sessions’ “resignation or removal” from office.
“We are far past recusal. Jeff #Sessions lied under oath. Anything less than resignation or removal from office is unacceptable,” she tweeted.
