Let me get this straight you want to let violent criminals back out on the street to crime some more because they are poor?
While at the same time you want to remove the guns from some citizen who has not commited a crime because some scared karen used your new red flag laws?

Did I say violent criminals? The courts can and do refuse bail to those individuals who are accused of violent crimes. That happens in countries where cash bail is non existent.
There are thousands of none violent individuals accused of none violent crimes that are denied their liberty because they do not have the financial means to do so. If you cannot see anything wrong with that, then thats on you.
Doing away with all bail would be more fair than we have now. If two people have committed the same crime but one can get out on bail while the other can’t that’s a problem. You should have to sit in jail based on the crime not how much you are able to post.

I think that was an unfair assessment.
He clearly said: "… not all criminals are equal and not all criminals are a risk to the community. … "
Extrapolating that to say that he wants violent criminals back out on the street is really misguided.
I dislike when people do this to me, and it’s something that happens frequently on this board. Let’s work to avoid that sort of rhetoric.

Cheers Guvnah, I try not to do that to others as well but I admit sometimes I fall short of my own standards.
Then lets just take the violent out of it.
He still side stepped the question because he did not want to answer the question.
Around half of the criminals he rejoices in releasing commit more crimes while waiting for their trail. Seems that is no big deal to many because they are not the ones being hurt.
But the same person you are defending rejoices in red flag laws where no crime is committed but a person loses, their second amendment rights and must spend money to fight the courts to get their rights back. And after they get their rights back they have to spend money fighting to get their guns back. Which probably cost them more than the bail would have cost the crook.
So in the United States under leftist rule we now reward criminals and punish law abidding citizens.

Yes, they are. Every single one. You can make the argument they aren’t before the first conviction - they haven’t been found guilty.
After the first one, they are.

Might want to watch a little news.
What do they use for security?
All bail is money.
Bail in the UK is normally with or without conditions. With conditions tends to require someone to check into their local police station at set intervals.
Idiotic argument but whatever floats your boat.

I addressed the frequent practice, not to defend any specific person, but to improve the level of exchange here. In fact, you could say I did it for selfish reasons. Recall, I said, “I dislike when people do this to me …”
Frankly, OandT, I’m with you in opposing easy release pending trial, so I’m certainly not defending anyone for calling for easier bail. It’s all the more reason I want to see my side of the argument on this issue conducted as cleanly as possible.

There certainly is an interesting juxtaposition of stories like the guy who was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm after he wrestled it away from the robber who shot him, compared to this:

What was your stance again about Comey’s revelation before Congress that Hillary broke the law but he didn’t think it should be prosecuted? Double standard much?

That’s an interesting way to say that you agree with me.
