A public information officer for the department, Lt. Gerald Lantz, said in a press release the investigation that led to the affidavit to obtain a search warrant for the home remains ongoing and additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
I donât think thatâs acceptable. Their ongoing criminal investigation is far less important than public accountability.

Just because you are responding to a call doesnât mean you can operate the vehicle in a reckless manner. And that fact is also part of the training for officers.

The since this was the wrong house, it now has nothing to do with their investigation of the subject they were looking for. The investigation involving this house now is the internal affairs investigation into the incompetence and gross negligence of the supervisory team that put together this raid and requested the warrant.

The court decided that any more than 15-20 seconds was plenty of time for a suspect to destroy the cocaine the police were looking for.
That is, when circumstances are exigent because a pusher may be near the point of putting his drugs beyond reach, it is imminent disposal, not travel time to the entrance, that governs when the police may reasonably enter;
And 15 to 20 seconds does not seem an unrealistic guess about the time someone would need to get in a position to rid his quarters of cocaine
I want to criticize the police, the judges, and the society that decided disposal of drugs was important enough to bust down someoneâs door. That is a perversion of law enforcement.

Busting windows, deploying flash bangs and busting down doors is a whole lot sexier than setting up early morning surveillance and initiating contact after the suspect exits the home or apartment.

This is horrible. Police arrest a woman suffering from a brain bleed and she waits 27 hours to get medical attention.

This almost happens to a guy unused to work with. He suffered a stroke while driving home one evening and managed to pull over, but he was observed by a cop who proceeded to arrest him for DUI because he couldnât walk or talk properly. Fortunately, a second officer arrived and recognized the signs and got him to the hospital in time to prevent permanent damage or death.

It all comes down to training, lack of training, actually.
Good lord, this would be hysterical if it werenât so frightening. A freakinâ acorn. And the cops get a âpolicy violationâ.

This has been known for years. Fox News is just repeating it.
What the â â â â does that to do with anything. You can always be counted on to bring race into an issue.

He probably meant to post it in the Claudine Gay thread.

The article is pertinent to current movements and issues with policing. The BLM argument is that police are in essence looking for a reason to shoot Black citizens. It is also an active argument for defunding the police. This study, and the reaction to it, are valid topics for discussion in relation to policing.

Do you usually take stock in a study that hasnât been peer reviewed?
