These are what most dogs in Afghanistan (shepherds) tend to look like.
There’s also a couple hundred/thousand German shepherds there now as well, since about August 2021. Dog fighting is extremely popular over there.
In Baghdad, the stray dogs would already be eating the dead bodies as the firefights died down. The dogs would often have to be shot in order to retrieve the remains.
