Democratic candidate in Georgia’s gubernatorial race Stacey Abrams is preparing to launch an “unprecedented challenge” as the state prepares to certify the victory of Republican Brian Kemp; a move that could prompt the courts to demand a second round of voting.

According to the Associated Press, “Stacey Abrams’ campaign is preparing an unprecedented legal challenge in the unresolved Georgia governor’s race that could leave the state’s Supreme Court deciding whether to force another round of voting.”

Abrams’ campaign staffers claim the candidate hasn’t made a final decision on whether to proceed should state officials finalize Kemp’s victory.

At least three dozen lawyers are crafting the proposal that claims “misconduct, fraud, or irregularities” exist that are “sufficient to change or place in doubt the results.”

The Kemp campaign blasted Abrams potential legal fight this week; calling the move a “publicity stunt” and a “ridiculous temper tantrum.”
