The holes serve two purposes: to help the vision impaired to sign the ballot envelope in private and to serve as a visual double check for election officials in the state’s 58 counties “so that they know the ballot has been extracted and not left inside an envelope uncounted,” Jenna Dresner, a spokesperson for the California Secretary of State, told us in an email.
So there is not a vision impaired accommodation in brail or large print?
The sealed envelope is an insufficient indicator that the ballot has not been counted?
The vote can be seen through manipulation if the envelope is already open and if the ballot is put in that way. Seeing as there are multiple ways to fold and place a ballot into an envelope, it seems like a very poor method for exposing a vote to be weeded out by liberal postal workers.
Let us also not forget that one can track their ballot online to see if it has been delivered and counted.
It is an amazing conspiracy that can be easily defeated by putting the ballot in the envelope in any other way.
And while it is a poor design and should be addressed in future campaigns… there is zero reason to show that this was an intentional conspiracy to keep Larry Elder out of office when the polling shows a 15 point margin to not recall Newsome.
Elder getting into the race and becoming the front runner practically saved Newsome’s governorship.
