There was a time about a decade ago when the Right wing media used to love to come to Detroit and film inside the old train station and the abandoned Packard plant. Two very ugly buildings. We used to call it “ruin porn” because they would then air the footage and say all of Detroit was like this and the only reason it was so bad was because Democrats ran Detroit.
Unfortunately for these fellows, the train station is now the worldwide headquarters for all EV vehicles for the Ford corporation. They are dropping a half billion into the building and revitalizing an entire community.
The Packard plant is the world’s largest abandoned factory and was actually designed by Albert Kahn, it used to be beautiful but it is too large to do anything with. Eventually it is going to be demolished, I imagine.
I think about that when I hear poop stories and SF, it is just an excuse to bitch about Democrats.
