Funny how legal immigrants in the main don’t see Trump’s words that way, but only those who want illegal immigration to bolster the waning leftist voting base do.

What would be your humane solution to men tempting bored children into their cars with promises of sweets and a good time on Disneyland, gatecrashing en masse the security fences of Disneyland, having coached those kids to recite that they are desperately seeking asylum from their present low pocket-money homes and unhappy lifestyles? That the children and accompanying adults crashing the fences should be allowed to set up camp in Disneyland, at Disneyland’s expense? Would you consider the tempters’ strategy for inducing the kids into Disneyland and for claiming the right to be and remain there acceptable/ legit?

This is not a new thing at all, During the Iraq War I was told to move to Canada by almost every GOP member that I interacted with online and in person if I said that Iraq War was wrong. I was accused of hating the “troops” and hating the US because 9/11. Never mind fact that I served for 6 years in military which included the Gulf War and in Somalia in 1993. This is not new party, it just that small part of GOP that was normal and sane have left and gone independent because the loony right white supremist have become more out and front instead of hiding it because have a leader of party who is 10x more crazy than idiots that follow him.

Comprise/temporary concessions are pretty much the same thing. The first is the optimistic way of seeing it, the glass half full, the second is the glass half empty. The results are the same.

There was a time when Republicans and Democrats could talk to one another. Reagan and O’Neil certainly did.

Are they Bob? What good does it do me to “compromise” if it’s only temporary and you’re going to keep coming until I submit? What are you giving up?

Is “compromise” not what got us to where we are today? Do you have a right to compromise my rights? Because my rights are individual, not collective, they belong to me.

Compromise is what made this country in the first place; it is what got us to where we are today.

The Constitution is the result of the colonies being able to reaching compromise on a whole host of issues. And your “rights” are assured because of the comprises made by the Founders.

As I see it neither conservatives nor liberals are entirely wrong or right. The best path forward lies somewhere in the middle. So long as we have both they will tend to cancel out the worst inclinations of the other.

As for compromise being temporary; well that’s just fine. Our politics are a pendulum, one side will be ascendant as the other is in decline and before you know it, the tables will be reversed.

Many of the “far left” policies that republicans demonize are actually quite popular. While I agree, that many don’t agree with the far left on immigration, many are also disgusted with the far right.

Probably very few are. But many are anti illegal-immigrant, as are many near-centre-but-left Democrats.

Very few Americans agree with either party on 100% of the issues. Immigration is not the most important issue for most Americans.

What difference does that make? I’m sure it’s not for the Americans in Connecticut and Homogeneous Hampshire. How about the border states?

There are about 4 to 6 issues more important than immigrations for democrats and independents, while immigration is the second most important issue to republicans. I’ve never encountered a non-republican who was passionate about the illegal immigration subject.

Why the fascination with Israel? What does the Quran and the Hadith say about the Jews? (Yes I made myself read the English version of it). What did she mean when she said “Israel has hypnotized the world may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel“?

She is from Somali and as much as everyone loves diversity Somali is basically 100% Muslim which do not particularly like the Jews and that is putting it kindly, and then it’s the constant comments on Israel. Your side talks about dog whistles she isn’t using dog whistles she is saying Israel is bad her religion teaches the Jews are bad.

I remember at first trying to defend a few comments from Steve King but I started hearing the hate and came to the conclusion that he is a racist and never again tried defend that pos. I know it’s not easy and everything these days are tribal but just because she is on the left, a woman of color, and wears a hijab doesn’t mean she isn’t Antisemitic from a religion that preaches anti-semitism.
