Well if it is wrong to ask for an investigation of a possible political opponent because that is implicitly for personal political gain, then how can it not be wrong to vote to convict a likely political opponent? Shouldn’t that also be considered to be for personal political gain and therefore an abuse of office?

If Trump was concerned about Burisma and the Bidens, he should have asked the DOJ to investigate. That investigation would have happened behind the scenes, with no announcement.

That’s not what trump wanted. He wanted an announcement. That is what he demanded.

If Obama was concerned about the AG, he should have sent somebody whose son wasn’t involved in the Ukraine.

You are correct of course, but don’t expect any Democrat to be honest and agree with you.

If any Democrat in this forum suddenly found themselves charged with a crime and in a courtroom, and five jurors stood up and said they were guilty before the trial even started, you can bet every penny you have that the said Democrat would scream bloody murder and demand that those jurors be replaced.

But as I have said before. today’s Leftists don’t care about the rule of law (healthcare for illegal aliens) and don’t care about right or wrong. They will trample on any law in their lust to gain power.

So these senators will not recuse themselves because they are hypocrites and liars.
