I agree with CDC, the virus will come and go like influenza. You see, influenza is here to stay and the fatality rate is something to pay attention to. Influenza poses the same fatality risk to the same target group.
The sky is falling. Let’s freak out.

Will free up some space for the homeless. The. Virus and substance abuse will cause more fatalities among the homeless.

Exceptionally rational. There is no need to panic.
Where were you when they were unloading the Ebola filled boat out of the port in Elizabeth? Your rationality. Your sense would have been so very helpful back then.

@Borgia_dude. Looks like there was a CDC hiccup:
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg declared a public health emergency Monday after the federal government released a woman from quarantine who tested positive for COVID-19, San Antonio officials confirmed to CNBC.
The woman was among the 91 Americans evacuated from Wuhan and placed in federal, 14-day quarantine at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The woman tested negative twice for the new and was released Saturday under guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Nirenberg said Monday. CDC later got positive tests results and had to go get her. Now people at the mall and hotel are bring monitored.
Sorry we dont suffer from trump devotion syndrome.
Meh we dont even need to whatabout here.
Lets consult the guy that doesnt know or believe evolution is a thing just as Twump would want us to do.
I’m not sure what your point is. Are you saying that CDC Director’s knowledgeable opinion on likely spread of a disease shouldn’t be trusted because a they screwed up a single test and quarantine?

No, but, CDC had a hiccup

I think we are saying the same thing. The virus will not disappear.
China is seeing a downward swing, may be because of quarintine and public awareness. Will it come back? Probably just like influenza.

I am glad we got not suffer from that. Although some do suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, Bernieitis, and sleepyjoe syndrome.
Agreed. Likely will see waxing/waning repeatedly until vaccine.

Glad we can agree on something. What will happen to the anti vaccine crowd who do not believe in getting a shot?
Even as a vaccine is perfected, it will still reoccur.
They get what their lack of knowledge on math and science earn them. Likely more cases of coronavirus.
Agreed again. Vaccines are not 100% effective and not everyone can take a given vaccine. We need that herd immunity to protect them.
It’s nice when the rhetoric is ratcheted down and people can find areas of agreement.
I don’t actually have an issue with how the Trump admin is running this. I think CDC messed up. We can argue whether the shrinking CDC staff had something to do with that till the cows come home.
That being said so far there is nothing crazy about how this is being run. Kind of like Ebola. The absence of rational thought at the time however needs to be pointed out imo. But okie

Actually we probably agree more than realized.
Judo…
Rose is right. Coronavirus is not an airborne virus. The only way you would get this from the air…is if someone sneezed right into your eyes, nose or mouth. It is passed by an infected person leaving their infection (viral laced sneeze or cough droplets on a surface somewhere, and then you come along and touch that surface, and wipe your mouth or eyes with the now still live virus. That is not the definition of an airborne virus.
This is why the CDC and WHO are telling us to disinfect surfaces we touch, and use hand washing and hand sanitizers to prevent the spread…because it is preventable if you use universal precautions. If you are sick and we are in the room together which one of us should be wearing the mask, you or me?
The answer is YOU. The mask will not prevent me from getting sick because if you sneeze on my desk and then later two or three days later even, I touch my business card holder on my desk that you sneezed on, I am going to have that virus on my hands and potentially rub my hands to my face and transfer the virus. but if you have the mask on, you keep your virus in your own mask and not all over my desk.

I actually disagree with putting the equivalent of an anti vaxxer in charge of this response after foolishly firing people who knew what they were doing but eh.
