“Liberty” is permission.

I wonder why, given that this country is less racist (and not systemically racist at all) than ever before, there is this huge push by the critprogs?

What happened? What are they trying to achieve?

Then they weren’t conservative by modern standards.

Going to have to disagree. Of course you had your hard corps slavers, nothing to do about them but war.

But there was a whole other group who knew slavery was an abomination but were concerned about collapsing the economy in their region. The consequences and shock to the system.

Incremental, thoughtful change understanding impact is the tenet of conservatism.

Today’s conservatives are most definitely not interested in preserving the current status quo.

I get what you’re trying to do; it’s disingenuous.

You want to move forward to 2019?

If preserving the current status quo makes you a conservative, democrats are the conservatives. Conservatives are radical liberals.

You didn’t want to preserve the status quo in 2019?

Heck no, I want the fed put back in it’s original box.

what were they trying so hard to conserve?

Oh come on now!

How often have you said you are a liberal using the earlier definition of same? Me too.

Cool! Then let’s not defend “conservatives”!

If they want to defend and uphold the current status quo, I am on board, but I find those people are to be found on the left, not the right. To be fair, there are more and more people who always considered themselves to be on the left joining forces with the right. To be expected when a party goes from supporting free speech to opposing it.

The old definitions are no longer applicable.

Outstanding!

Pity most high school “educations” are not worth crap these days after decades of dumbing down.
