Kid on Time cover was not taken away from Mother

It’s very telling the father did not want to make the journey to hte U S, but the mother did. Why go at all when the Chief Breadwinner has a good job, unlike many other Hondurans?

It was, IMO, a very selfish decision on her part to take the daughter, not knowing what could happen during the journey. I can’t believe the father capitulated to “At the end of the day, it was her decision.”

Why? Yanela is her child too. It’s also very telling she left the couple’s three other children with him. If where you’re living is such a dump, why not take all the kids?

But back to the topic of Yanela being in the photograph, it’s more telling no research was done into the identiy of the child and location of her mother. And it’s obvious Time is catering to a crowd they hope is naive. What sensible adult doesn’t know that from time to time, little kids cry?

It sounds like just an unofficial method of getting a divorce and splitting the children. Not exactly what the UN defines as a refugee.
