Does this seem kosher to you? I say no. Kentucky, do something.

You have the right to vote, not the right to vote in timely manner

That means Jefferson County — the state’s largest, home to 767,000 residents and the city of Louisville — will have as its sole polling location a convention and expo center where voting booths have been set up about eight feet apart in a cavernous hall. About 1 in 5 residents in the county is African American, the largest black population in the state.

But America is democracy.

Let’s get the Kentucky national guard out to man the polling places.

If Biden wins and Democrats take the Senate, 100% chance you see a major new Voting Rights Act passed that will likely standardize elections nationwide and institute more direct Federal control over elections.

And dumbass **** like this is the reason why.

Used to be a lot easier to disenfranchise citizens for partisan gain and get away with it.

The reason is that the raw data is now easily accessible by ordinary people. Even as recently as 2000, most people just didn’t have access to redistricting data.

This one is pretty ballsy even by Republican Secretary of State standards. One polling place for almost a million people?

Meanwhile down in my brother’s and sister’s resident County of Brevard in Florida.

A nice welcoming invitation to vote by mail and guarantee of plenty of ballots for all.

It can be done fairly and correctly.

If people can riot, they can vote. Open all voting locations up. No reason to limit it.

I can’t read the article because I refuse to give the Washington Post money… who is “they”?

Here’s the only other thing I can find:

“Because of a shortage of workers willing to staff voting sites during the health crisis, each of the commonwealth’s 120 counties is opening a very limited number of polling locations.”

Obviously, people should have been encouraged to vote by mail, but since they weren’t, National Guard should be activated.

Here in NJ, everyone automatically received a vote by mail ballot.

I don’t think that’s correct. We had to apply for ours.

Why should adults have to be encouraged? I’m voting by absentee.

That signature match is required for all mail-in ballots, and most New Jerseyans will be voting by mail in the July 7 primary due to the coronavirus pandemic. Under Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive order, the state automatically will mail ballots to all registered Democrats and Republicans. N.J. just made it easier to vote by mail in the July 7 primary - nj.com

To compare and contrast in my local federal electorate of around 85,000 voters there were 35 separate polling places in the 2016 federal election. This is the norm for most metropolitan electorates here.
