Yes, absolutely.

The job of the federal government is to obey the Law that permits it to exist. Not to look after the welfare of individuals who have never enumerated a power for it to do so.

A government bound under heavy chains, a slave, and the people are free.

Or …

A government free to do as it pleases and the people ultimately bound under a multitude of statutes and apparats.

Where Scrooge learned that humanity was his business the people who look to government only find newer versions of the professionals whose job it is to take care of the needy in their place … nicer bland government versions on the surface of it giving out things they call entitlements and benefits but ultimately versions that allows no one to be free of their boot … for our own good they will always insist.

You don’t think we need more laws?

What about right to work laws?

Yeah!
Can’t a prog darling ever catch a break?

From you guys? Nope but then one is not being sought.

First: State law

Second: Right to Work laws are neutral. They are neither demanding or forbidding unions.

It’s the Union shop laws that demand compliance.

I wonder how many legalized illegals make up the new hires.

Workers should think about the illegal immigration policies of the people they vote for.

No. That’s just a scheme to pit one set of poor people against another group of poor people. Slick move to split their votes. Let’s unite against real culprit- corporations taking advantage of workers.

Like GM took advantage of its workers?

How poor are the kelllog workers that are on strike? I haven’t read that yet.

There are no union shop laws, just contract terms.

“Right to Work” laws aren’t neutral - they specifically prohibit those contract terms.

Yeah I had a real tough time with the corporation i worked 40 years for.

Was making 33 an hour when i retired. Between shift work and a little OT you could easily make 100,000 a year. Not bad money and all without a union. :grinning:

That is hilarious.

It is a scheme alright.

The scheme is the open border and a crackpot like Biden opening up the flood of desperate laborers.

When it was Hostess???

Sorry, but there isn’t a wage high enough for me to belong to a union. I grew up with my dad in the Steelworkers union, after I got out of the Corps I went to work at the same place. If you weren’t part of the “gang” you got basic if any protection. When that plant shutdown in the middle of 2nd shift, nobody had a clue, union did NOTHING to protect them. Thankfully my dad had already retired so his was safe, but those that were there lost it all.

When he died, I called the union and I was told since he was no longer a member, they wouldn’t do a thing, didn’t even send flowers and he was a member of that local for 33 years.

Fast forward to 2010, I got an IT job at a major auto manufacturer’s engine plant. If I had to unplug a cabinet to do something I HAD to have an union electrician pull the plug or a grievance was filed. FF to today, on campus there is a veterans lounge that has been forgotten about until the semester that just ended. I was awarded a scholarship to be the military student advocate, so me, my advisor, and his boss want to “unforget” the lounge and get some upgrades done including painting the room we have. I said I would gladly come on over the break to help, was told nope, not allowed. They only have one guy painting on our regional campus, but since it is union, I am not allowed. That is ■■■■■■■■■ myself and my advisor WANT to help so it can get done over break, but, because of the union we are not allowed to even help with something we want, something the vets on campus would use IF it had better furniture, the crap just tossed in there to store that is not used anymore out, etc.

Starbucks is a company that I no longer do business with due to their political stances.

I bought some extra Kellogg products this week to show support and solidarity with the striking workers.

Union shops cannot exist without government support.

Moreover what our founding fathers would have called the right of free labor, what we call right to work, should be counted among our P&I.

Right to work doesn’t forbid unions, it upholds the right of persons to choose if they will join a Union. It is neutral.

Look, dude, I’m not saying you can’t have bad experiences with unions. I graduated high school in 1985. In 1987 I got a union job with New Jersey Bell, now Verizon. By 1990 i was making 22 bucks an hour. No chance my youth and my life turns out the way it does without that job. I owe my life to unions.

Right now I am making 27.12 an hour to collect a few tolls on the midnight shift. I watch you tube all night. I was making a lot more on road maintenance until I transferred back. I don’t need 35 an hour plus OT. Not at this stage of my life. But I owe everything to unions.

Union is not perfect. but we know without unions or ability to organized, corportions will take advantage of workers.

No they don’t.
