Do I think the modern day democrat party is “better” than the modern day GOP? 100% yes. This is still politics, mind you, so they both are fundamentally flawed and awful. But yes, the modern day GOP is void of ideas, fueled by fear and misinformation, and allergic to governing. Some of the later is by design, but it’s also the result of years and years of doubling down on revenge politics that hasn’t expanded the party and shut out any room for policy progression.
