Kamala’s running mate, Tim Walz, praised Chinese communism to students

So instead of you answering LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS you condemn media outlets as “rightie rags”.

Why not just answer the questions?

Since this is the current case and Walz is running to be Vice President of the United States, does he not have a duty to explain and clarify to the public why he once made such comments, and if he has changed his previous views, and if he condemns China’s system which the CCP openly and proudly asserts the tenets of “Marxism-Leninism” are “. . . correct and have tremendous vitality”?

What comments? Teaching his students about China and their Communist system? I am still waiting for you to point out where he did anything objectionable. You yelling about the CCP’s assertions are really irrelevant.

Can you can show me one single place where he praised the Communist system?

The comments I provided a link to in the OP.

NO, because you are imagining the comments.

Stop making ■■■■ up. Here is a LINK to his comments.

Walz’s remarks were reported in a 1991 article in Nebraska’s Alliance Times-Herald that focused on his work on student exchange programs in China. At the time, Walz was teaching social studies at a Nebraska high school.

I read it, and said so earlier. There is nothing in this article that is other than factual. He’s not opining, not praising, just giving facts. Again, which comments do you object to?

Comments in the actual article, please. Not the editorializing by rightie outlets.

A puff piece article about Walz’s students having pen pals in China and Walz giving context to life in China being seen as Walz being totally a Communist sympathizer is certainly something that a brain addled by Bircher nonsense would find threatening.

The rest of the world is like… huh… that sounds neat that he did that with his students.

Of course. Some people here think this is a hard-hitting news story.

Thank you for your opinion about the article.

As previously pointed out, many who have read the published piece in question, have been left with the impression his comments imply support of China’s system:

Walz’s China ties garner attention, provoke GOP criticism

JWK

In every oppressive country like communist China, socialist Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, etc., where the people are disarmed, they suffer the loss of inalienable rights under an iron fisted government which lives large off the people’s labor. Forewarned is forearmed.

Those many who have also read the piece have a particular view to sell.

The thing is a puff piece about having his students write to pen pals in China.

To put scare quotes around the story is very very silly.

One rightie outlet, then another, then another…

@johnwk2 , haven’t you noticed that those articles are all the same? Same quotes, same objections- probably AI.

So, going to the party who made the comments quoted [Walz], and asking the party for clarification, seems to be the appropriate course of action.

I see you, as some other recent posters, avoid answering the questions asked:

Which comments again?

What needs to be clarified?

It’s a third hand description of something that happened years ago.

I’ll be honest it sounds like he was praising Chinese culture more than anything else. And I mean Chinese culture is awesome despite the CCP so it’s perfectly reasonable.

Walz obviously likes China, its culture and people.

I have never seen him say good things about their government

In case you missed it, Walz refers to the “government” providing “. . . 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month.” where everyone is the same.

Well then, to answer your question: no.

Walz is under no obligation to assuage the “impressions” of political opponents. Especially when those impressions are in bad faith.

Political opponents? Asking legitimate questions of a candidate running for office makes that person a political opponent?

Well, how would you describe them?
