Uh, no, this just means you have been habitually mis-using the term “socialism” because it’s scary and gives y’all all the negative feels when in reality it describes a system drastically different than the United States’ system of taxation and distribution of services/benefits/whatever you want to call them, doesn’t matter.

This all started with Obama, and “socialism” became for you what “collusion” now is for Democrats. The scariest of words, that doesn’t fit.

Y’all have been misusing socialism for years, screaming it at the top of your lungs, and we have been quietly telling you the definition doesn’t fit, at all. Even when presented with the actual definition, you just go find random “synonyms” and claim you’re right.

I haven’t mis-used anything. That welfarism is listed in Dictionaries and Roget’s Thesaurus (mine is a 1962 edition, and both liberalism and welfarism are given as synonyms) a synonym for socialism has to do with common usage and the evolution of language. You do believe in evolution, don’t you?

That last one, absentee ownership, is in reference to rentiers. Income derived rents is entirely unproductive in nature, unlike, say, building things.
