Sen. Kamala Harris publicly praised Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez’ tax plan and similar “radical” proposals as “fantastic” Tuesday; saying the self-described Democratic-Socialist strengthens the Democratic Party.

“Do you agree this ideology of the socialist-left could splinter your party?” asked The Views’ Meghan McCain.
“No. I think she is challenging the status-quo. I think that’s fantastic. I used to teach… the thing that I always loved about teaching is when you teach it requires you to defend a premise…I think she’s introducing bold ideas that should be discussed,” said Sen. Harris.
