Kam-olicy The list so far

What?

My down payment does not go directly to the seller. What in the world

Yes. I still had to take out a mortgage. I
 the buyer
still had a mortgage. I wired my down payment to my mortgage company. My mortgage company gave the difference to the sellers.

If I had the cash to buy the home outright
well then I don’t need a down payment

Once a Dem politician declares a new government program, Democrat nuthuggers, like forum libs, need not think anymore for in their minds who among us little people is in any way capable of being in the intellectual stratosphere of a polymath like Kamala! We must throw out the simple logical fact that by government injecting billions of “free” money into the housing market will logically increase the cost of housing. We must also throw out the laws of supply and demand, as also the fact of giving out all this free money to people will logically increase the SUPPLY of buyers with an already depressed supply of houses! Couple that with flooding the country with millions and millions of more people, will also put a further strain on an already depressed housing market! But since, according to forum libs, Kamala is “wicked smart” anything she proposes must be an incredibly brilliant idea far beyond the abilities of pee-ons like ourselves.

Well good thing she also proposed incentives for home builders to build more homes.

So home builders are not incentivised to build homes? Next thing you’ll tell us is that car salesmen are not incentivised to sell cars.

Not being able to meet the conditions of a loan program, but loaning the money anyway is not a bad loan?

Based on what?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

A lot of this policy discussion is speculation. We know what the goals are but until congress takes up the legislative initiative, we don’t know for certain how the law will be implemented.

A good example of this is Harris’ proposed ban on price gouging. There are no other details available. Doesn’t stop people from fear mongering with soviet style price controls.

No, but I bet Kamala can fix that with a forgive mortgage debt program.

That buyer will be the one who excepts the 25k increase in my asking price.

Just because one can save (or be gifted from family) for a down payment, doesn’t mean they can afford a mortgage payment.

Just because one doesn’t save for a down payment, doesn’t mean they can’t afford the mortgage.

There is no direct correlation

It’s a damn good indicator that they can’t. If they are living at a level where they can’t save a few grand over the course of a few years, it’s a clear indication that their financial situation isn’t stable enough to take on a large debt along with the unforseen costs associated with it over the long term.

So taxpayers who have paid into Medicare their working lives were suckers? States have Medicaid that is withheld from earners to care for low income and those who do not have medical insurance. Medicare for all is a giveaway for illegals. How is this being paid for? And why should someone who hasn’t contributed enjoy the same medical benefits as those who did? Another Inflation booster.

It’s interesting looking at the exchanges going on here about this proposed new policy. Simply put, no matter how libs want to spin it, this is about government jumping in to manipulate the housing market by throwing money at a problem. And like you pointed out in your post it’s exactly what government did before, albeit with a different approach. What’s the definition of insanity?

It’s all a scam. Democrats swooping in with taxpayer funded solutions for “victims” of the housing market. Knowing full well 5 or 10 years down the line when those new homeowners financially ■■■■ the bed, those same democrats will swoop in will sacks of taxpayer cash to save all those victimized by “predatory loans”, evil proffiteers or whatever they chose to label the villians at that time.

I disagree. It depends how the program is implemented. What if it was a match of your own down payment? People were priced out due to the rapid rise of home prices.

(Not trying to be an ass)

Match “your” down payment with “our” money?

How about match “your” down payment with what “you” can afford?

Look, I get it. The housing market sucks, prices are crazy and it’s damn hard to get into a house in the current environment. But I don’t see any way throwing more cash into the issue doesn’t create further problems. There has to be a better solution.

She could clear up the speculation.

I honestly don’t understand the “joy” other than the “not Trump” aspect. To me, it’s insane to bote for somebody who doesn’t have clear stances on major issues. I don’t get it.

It looks like the hatred for Trump the personality is so deep that many would vote for anyone to keep him out.

What’s the purpose of a down payment?
