Those memorials are for the fallen German Soldiers of WWI and WWII and can be found all over West Germany.
You can honor the troops without honoring The Cause.

Are there major regions of Germany where people insist that flying the Nazi flag from their truck beds, wearing it as a belt buckle, or insisting it be flown from government buildings, or that statues to the generals of that war represent their “heritage?”
