But like I said “laws” only have teeth based on one’s desire and ability to follow, or enforce them. As I noted before doesn’t the “law” say that everyone that is in the US illegally is to be deported? Not much enforcement there though. Regarding asylum law, you look at it just in regard to the individual and disregard that of the sovereign nation, which is wrong:

It follows from the principle that each sovereign state is considered to have exclusive control over its territory and, consequently, over persons present in its territory. The fact is that we as a sovereign nation is under no obligation to be doing what the Biden administration is doing at the border.
