Is this true? Do we know you can’t pass it on after vaccination?
I’m sonfused about the ‘prevents serious illness’ part of the vaccine reports. that suggests you still can contract the virus, it just won’t effect you badly.
And if you can contract it, can’t you pass it?
I don’t know. 2 in my household in mid Jan contracted Covid-19. I was in close contact with them while under quarantine taking care of them without any PPE on. I tested negative and had no symptoms.

Since my son came down with this last Tuesday, I looked into this. His doctor says that there is a 10 percent chance that someone in a family with someone who has covid 19 will get it from them. An article I read based on some study in Utah said that this was a 12% chance. The reason being that only about 20 percent of people with the symptoms are “super spreaders” and others don’t spread it easily.
I did get my first shot one day before he came down with symptoms, but that was too short a time to have had any effect in my not getting the virus. As of yet I have had no symptoms and the results of a test I took Saturday have not come in.

Got my first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Friday. Shot itself was very painless, especially when compared with some that really sting, like the tetanus or MMR.
Woke up Saturday feeling like I’d been hit by a Mack truck. Headache and body aches, very tired all day, chills most of the day, arm VERY sore (especially at the injection site).
Sunday, still quite worn out, arm sore. Napped a lot.
Today, arm is a little tender at the injection site. Other than that, feeling fine.
By the way, I contracted COVID in October and ended up in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks, from the 21st until November 6th. Was on oxygen for another month and a half after being released from the hospital. Still get winded easily. I’m not a big fan of the COVID virus, to say the least. Happy and hopeful to get the vaccine.

Friday. Essential Worker (LOL)
Shouldn’t you not need the vaccine?
Medical advice is to get it anyway…as even though antibodies are present getting the vaccine is like a booster.

Took a week off & got my second dose of Pfizer yesterday.
Felt chills & heavy muscle pain in the injection site.
Still feeling a bit beat up, but hopefully will be back to normal this weekend.

Had my first dose of Moderna one week ago. Felt a little fatigued that evening. That was about it. Second dose in 3 weeks.

I’ve heard Dose 1 reminds you of the day after a night out drinking when you’re 21, and that Dose 2 reminds you of doing the same thing, but now you’re 61.
Canadian vaccination roll out has been trash because we lack domestic supply chain so not yet.

My “old” professor used to say: “When you’re young all you want is a good ■■■■■ when you’re middle aged all you want is a good meal, and when you’re old all you want is a good ■■■■■■ Not sure I agree, but it sounded realistic when I was 21.

I got the flu shot once and got sick/flu…I’ll pass on the vaccine.
I’m not sure what young and old wants are, but I’ll assume you mean “puppy” and “prune juice”
You should start feeling better tonight, tomorrow you should feel nearly normal, hopefully.
Take some Tylenol but avoid NSAIDs like Motrin or Alleve.

Didn’t even feel dose 1, other than a slightly sore arm for half a day.
That mirrors 21 year old Mwevans…”I feel great except for this bruise that I don’t know from whence it came.”
I am still that way. I will be working in the yard and when I take my shower I have cuts all over me, never noticed in the heat of things.
First Moderna a month ago…i felt pretty crappy. Second one on Wednesday felt great. However. At the end of the day they had 3 doses left over and they were not wasting them. My wife and son came and got theirs. My wife who has all kinds of issues had no side effects. My 25 year old son wakes up at 3:30 am in Afib at 7:30 am he’s in the ER. Spent the night in hospital. Gave him Flecainide this morning and in a half hour he was back in normal rhythm.
Now I am not saying the shot caused it…but maybe exasperated by the viral infection he had a month ago. It was not COVID.
He had no other reaction to the shot.
