The IRS “scandal” is a perfect example of how misled, disingenuous and dishonest Trump supporters really are.

At NO point was anyone’s speech suppressed. Whenever you hear someone state that, they are lying through their teeth.

Liberal and conservative groups with hyper-partisan names were given extra scrutiny when filing for tax exempt status, as they should’ve been. Totally reasonable profiling that at NO POINT interfered with ANY organizations ability to operate and exercise free speech.

But Trump supporters, perhaps due to dishonesty or just plan ol’ stupidity, keep banging this drum.

Why did they lose so many E-mails? Why were 95% of those held up Republican?

I’m not sure that number is accurate. Regardless, with the rise of tea parties throughout the states there were a lot of conservative groups forming up. Probably a lot more than liberal groups at the time.

With the birth of the Tea Party I’m pretty sure there would have been a lot more request coming from new conservative groups seeking tax exempt status than from liberal groups.

There’s nothing to exonerate. Groups with key words in their names were examined more closely. No one was harmed or disenfranchised by this. Groups weren’t targeted for their politics, but rather the purpose of their existence to make sure they qualified.
