Judicial updates and the Senate's upcoming week (starting 9/21)

As of the close of business today, the Senate has confirmed 216 Article III Judicial nominees, including 2 Supreme Court Justices, 53 Circuit Judges, 159 District Judges and 2 Trade Court Judges.

Only 2 Article III Judicial nominees, both District Judge nominees, are up for next week. The remaining nominees are either Article I Judicial or Executive Branch.

No legislative business is currently scheduled for next week.

Ordered, That following Leader remarks on Monday, September 21, 2020, the Senate proceed to executive session to resume consideration of the nomination of Edward Hulvey Meyers, of Maryland, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims for a term of fifteen years.

Ordered further, That at 5:30 p.m., notwithstanding the provisions of Rule XXII, the cloture motions on the following nominations ripen:

Edward Hulvey Meyers, of Maryland, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims for a term of fifteen years; Andrea R. Lucas, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term expiring July 1, 2025; Jocelyn Samuels, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for a term expiring July 1, 2021; Keith E.
