What the Republicans did was 100% legal and within the constitution.
They did ignore all precedent and lost any good will they had with the minority party and ignored even pretending they cared about a bi-partisian support but it was 100% within their right.

Stacking the court will be within the right of the Dems if and when they take control but i hope they don’t do it.

However -getting rid of the fillbuster will also be 100% within their right. Making PR and DC a state, 100% within their rights. Making the minority party sit on the sidelines and have no say while Dems pass whatever they want -100% within their rights and fully constitutional.

I hate that we got here. Its a partisan battle i didnt want fought. It was a war that could have been avoided and one i didnt want dems to fight.
But at this point - They have no choice. The battle has started and Dems will have to respond our be defeated.
I still draw the line at expanding the courts - But up until yesterday, I was against removing the filibuster. I now fully support it.

Let me guess… you liked when Dems filibustered a chunk of Bush nominees for judgeships back around 2006-7, then liked when Harry Reid got rid of the filibuster when republicans did the same thing as the Dems?

I didnt like either actually.

Until this month -I was against any changes to the fillbuster.
But im dont support the Dems playing with one set of rules while Republicans play by the other.
Republicans just rushed thru the very first SC Justice every without bipartisan support, and they did it when 50% of the country has already cast a vote for president.

They had every legal right to do it.
Dems will have every legal right to do what they are going to do now.
