Here, from the horses mouth: “Employment is the total number of persons on establishment payrolls employed full- or part-time who received pay (whether they worked or not) for any part of the pay period that includes the 12th day of the month.”
Your contention is that 227K people were put on payrolls between the time Trump won the election (Nov 5th) and the week of the 12th. If you want to believe that fairy tale go ahead.
What lies have been told “just this year alone?” Do you mean benchmarking adjustments to 2023?
Perhaps the most remarkable feature of this month’s report is just how unremarkable it is relative to the four years of the Biden administration. It was below the four-year monthly average (357) and just a bit below the 2022-2024 average that removes the really large covid rebound (277).
All in the face steeply increasing rates. Not too shabby.
