The man arrested Friday morning in southern Florida over his role in the recent string of “terrorizing” mail-bombings targeting prominent Democrats may face up to 58 years in prison of convicted.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was speaking with reporters Friday afternoon when he weighed-in on the Department of Justice’s handling of the case against 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc.

“[The suspect] has been charged today with five federal crimes, including interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents and certain other persons, threatening interstate communications and assaulting current and former federal officers,” Sessions said. “For these charges the defendant faces up to 58 years in prison. These charges may change or expand as the investigation proceeds.”
