Japan’s new Emperor Naruhito assumed the throne yesterday after his Father, Akihito, abdicated the previous day.
Akihito’s abdication was the first in 200 years.
Akihito was a good one. Hope his son carries the torch.
Neat.
He was also the first Emperor to not be considered a god. Officially that is. Apparently some older Japanese didn’t get the memo.
Now I would like to see Charles abdicate his position as Prince of Wales before his mother dies.
