Liberal legislators are preparing an all-out push for a universal healthcare system heading into the 2018 midterms, with Congressional Democrats creating an official “Medicare for All’ Caucus to promote the massive federal entitlement.
According to the Hill, at least 60 House Democrats created the caucus this week in a bid to craft legislation that would guarantee health coverage to every American across the country.
“More than 60 House Democrats launched a Medicare for All Congressional Caucus this month, a sign of the popularity surrounding the concept of a government-run health insurance system for everyone that’s supported by liberal firebrands like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” writes the Hill.
Rep. Debbie Dingell -the co-chair of the caucus- praised the liberal platform Tuesday, saying “We’re going to do what it takes to get health care for every American.”
“The idea would be to introduce something that has a little bit more detail and is an actual legislative path,” added another member.
