It looks like the last bit of ISIS territory has been taken in Syria

But Trump is pulling out that stabilizing force. And earlier in the thread you say Trump is listening to his generals as opposed to Obama. Just to be clear, it is almost unanimous among military leaders and foreign policy experts that the US should keep forces in northeast Syria. The only people who dont want that are Trump, Putin, Assad and Iran(I know Iran isnt a person). In Iraq, Obama wanted our troops there. It’s so frustrating that no one remember the Obama administration trying to keep our training and intelligence people there. Iraq said no. Bad decision on their part.

That’s deep in Syria government territory? Your probably looking at the same map I have been looking at lol.

Yeah. Dont expect this one to last, but this will be a thing. But later the may take something larger and it starts again.

It’s not that big of a deal if true. Wide open desert country. SAA just hasnt pht a lot of people there.

But ISIL pops up aggressively in weird places sonetimes. Their appearance/offensive in Hama in 2017 cost the rebels almost all of their territory in northeast Hama and a big chunk of Idlib. That one still seems fishy. Tailor made for SAA to move in. And its HTS fault that its under Assad control now. Turks were ready to go to set up an observation point in al Abu Dahur. Short sighted.

He backed off on pulling them out, hence he’s obviously listening to cooler heads.

Obama was offered a deal by Maliki that kept the troops in place under the old SOFA and turned it down.

He ran on pulling out the troops, that’s what he wanted and that’s what he got.

What did we get for it? Isis taking over half the country and much of Syria.

The Iraqi government publicly stated that they would not allow a SOFA that granted our troops immunity. Obama wanted 3-5000 troops to stay. But without that immunity our troops weren’t protected. That’s why we didn’t keep those troops there. Those are the facts.

How did he back off on pulling out our troops?

Until he didn’t.

This.

We moved them in country, we did not withdraw US forces from Syria.

We haven’t withdrawn our forces from Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan yet have we?

Looks like the Dumpster is utterly stupid and irresponsible.

We haven’t pulled our forces out of Syria yet no do I believe we will anytime soon.

What do you think is going to happen when Kurds abandon the prisons to defend the Turkish advance?

They’ll probably slaughter the prisoners before pulling out.
