Guns don’t make people violent.

Violent people without guns are less violent.

You.

You who does not speak for anybody but yourself. You said “civilians don’t need…”

Who are you to tell anybody what they need or don’t?

The 1st Amendment does not apply to this situation. You want to try Article 5 go right ahead. Rule of Law? Only the laws you like.

See London knife attacks…

I literally just answered your question. You quoted my answer before you asked it again.

See all of the mass shootings in U.S. history. Compare those with all of the mass knife attacks in U.S. history.

Violent people without guns are less violent.

No, they aren’t.

Yes, they are. Well, that was a refreshing discussion.

At least we’ve gotten past the ignorance of “guns are violent.”

You ever seen somebody stabbed to death by somebody who knows what they’re doing? Of course not else you wouldn’t post such nonsense.

There is nothing more violent than somebody getting beat to death.

Are you a violent person?

Do you carry a gun?

But guns are violent. They’re designed for violence.

No they are not. Who told you that?

They are designed to fire a projectile at a target of the user’s choosing.

It’s a tool.

I seem to remember studying just how violent people were before firearms even existed.

Some folks are just violent. Either as a result of their own trauma or they are just wired weird. Either way it goes their violence will still exist regardless of what happens to guns.

It’s a tool that when fired tends to wound, destroy, damage, or put holes in whatever it hits. It is designed for violence.

Yes, they are.

And an ax is designed to carve and cut whatever it hits.

Would you call an axe a tool of violence?

Are you a violent person?

Do you carry a gun?

I don’t answer irrelevant questions.

Let’s get back to our ping pong.

An ax can be a tool of violence. Its sole design and purpose is not to kill, maim, destroy, or threaten violence. I use my ax to make firewood. It is difficult for me to make firewood by using a gun, because unlike an ax, a gun does not serve that purpose.
