The House Judiciary Committee will hold its first official hearing on the impeachment of President Trump Tuesday; escalating Rep. Jerrold Nadler’s efforts to remove the Commander-in-Chief from office.
“Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s outspoken, loyal former campaign manager, is scheduled to appear Tuesday to discuss the report by former special counsel Robert Mueller. But it’s unlikely that Democrats will get much new information as they decide whether to draft articles of impeachment against the president,” reports the Associated Press.

“The Judiciary panel is moving ahead, approving rules for impeachment hearings last week. Among those guidelines is allowing staff to question witnesses, as will happen for the first time with Lewandowski,” adds the AP.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler confirmed his office has launched “formal impeachment proceedings” against President Trump this week; adding Democrats are investigating “all the evidence” contained in the Mueller Report and beyond.
“This is formal impeachment proceedings,” Nadler told CNN. “We are investigating all the evidence, gathering the evidence. And we will [at the] conclusion of this — hopefully by the end of the year — vote to vote articles of impeachment to the House floor. Or we won’t. That’s a decision that we’ll have to make. But that’s exactly the process we’re in right now.”
“The fact is, we are doing an investigation. We are investigating the facts, investigating the evidence,” Nadler said. “We are going into court to get witnesses all with a view toward deciding and recommending to the House whether to impeach the president.”
Nadler’s announcement comes just days after he demanded more documents related to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh -some dating back to 2001.
“Senate Democrats spent months launching false accusations in an attempt to smear Justice Kavanaugh’s reputation and block his confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court, and now House Democrats want to follow suit with yet another fishing expedition to tarnish his good name,” Rep. Doug Collins said.
