Just days after Special Counsel Robert Mueller officially concluded his Russian-Collusion investigation, House Democrats are now demanding the release of President Trump’s financial records going back at least ten years.

The Democrat-controlled House Oversight Committee sent an official letter to the President’s accounting firm last week requesting the documents; asking for all information related to “annual statements, periodic financial reports, and independent auditors’ reports.”

“We should not waste our limited resources and energies on matters that do not improve the operations of the federal government or better the lives of our constituents,” said a joint statement from Reps. Jordan and Meadows.

The Committee’s letter is “an ill-conceived inquiry into the finances of President Trump when he was a private citizen,” they added.
