Trump attacked his campaign promises like a scared pilot with a pre-flight checklist.

What he didn’t do is refuse to unclench his fist when he hit a block.

Yes, he promised some people a “big, new, beautiful healthcare plan”. To get votes. He didn’t promise it to progs and he certainly didn’t promise it to me.

He promised to get rid of obamacare, he got individual mandate. The unConstitutional part. I’m good.

Yes, he said he would make Mexico pay for the wall. The wall isn’t finished. He did get me Stay In Mexico. I’m good.

He also said he would support a Platinum Plan for the most favored minority.

Unfortunately he blew his shot at a 2nd term. It would have been interesting to see MAGA/America First with nothing to lose. Now we’ll never know.

He worked on every single promise he made, with varying success. I think he grossly underestimated the bureaucracy. He probably overestimated his ability to keep a republican congress and how bad even they would fight to keep the inertia.

He kept his promises; he just thought he had more power than he did.

The whole, he didn’t keep his promises to you is completely stupid. As if they somehow think him not giving us everything we wanted means we should support someone who hates us and is doing everything we hate instead.

And now we have Let’s Go Brandon in the white house.

I think you have that backwards. I’m going off what he literally wrote, you’re the one imagining something else.

We started from

to which I laughed and said he broke tons of promises and you replied:

And now we’ve moved to what is essentially “he didn’t break any promises I care about and/or he did the best he could”. This is a not the same as “he didn’t break any campaign promises while he was President” and certainly not the same level of scrutiny being applied to Biden who hasn’t even finished is first term and has had several “promises” stalled in Congress and the courts from being fulfilled.

That’s great that you want to treat Trump’s campaign promises with realism and understanding that no President can get everything they want through Congress… but that should be applied to all Presidents past and present.

That is stupid. Who’s making that argument? The argument is that its hypocritical to attack the current sitting President, who hasn’t finished his first term, for breaking campaign promises when all Presidents do, including Mr. MAGA.

Oh no! Brandon is keeping his promises so far.

An astute observation؟

A promise has to be fulfilled to be kept.

He’s got a good listing going for the first year. You must be proud.

I stand by my answer and agree with @WuWei. Trump was no politician and fought with mainstream establishment for four years. On the other hand, the One Horse Dog Faced Pony Soldier has not kept anything except for his opinion that hunter is one hell of a bright bulb.

I’m indifferent. I voted more against Trump then for Biden.

Isn’t that hypocritical?

I think the average Biden voter voted against Trump more than they voted for Biden.

How is that indifference holding up at the gas pump and grocery store?

Same. Biden didn’t get my primary vote.

Which campaign promises are you referring to?

None 5

Well then to answer you question, that indifference towards his campaign promises is holding up just fine at the gas pump and grocery store since he made no campaign promises regarding them.

What’s for dinner tonight? Spam?
