This literally was the same sentiment of those against the Civil Rights Movement in 1960s.
Abolitionists in the late 1800’s were also “woke” and often they were killed for their beliefs

Stop it.
As it was for MLK… he dreamt of “content of character” however it wasn’t the reality in 1960. And it isn’t the reality now, but it is better.

Straight, white males are inherently evil according to the new orthodoxy. If they are also Southern and Trump supporters, they are the devil incarnate.
Some on the left have called for the eradication of Trump supporters:
The President is a white nationalist terror leader. His supporters - ALL OF THEM - are by definition white nationalist terror supporters. The MAGA hat is a KKK hood. And this evil, racist scourge must be eradicated from society.

Must just be hyperbole since he is still on Twitter . . .
And yet statues of abolitionists and people who fought to end slavery are disfigured and attacked. Here is one example:
He was white so he must have been evil.
more an example of how bad education in America is then wokeness being a religion.

Where in that story did it identify that it was torn down by a BLM supporter? Just because it was torn down, doesn’t mean it was by Black people or BLM supporters.
If so, they are stupid and just assumed the statute was of a slave owner. Bad assumption
He is an Iranian-American professor at the University of California, Riverside. He also works for CNN.
And he has unusual eating habits.
But that is all good since he hates Trump and he is sufficiently brown.
It was probably torn down by Antifa.
Interesting. What do you base this “new orthodoxy” on - speeches, publications?

Woke…the new highway for the unhappy in pursuit of their happiness but at the expense of someone else’s? That crosses the line and will not end well.
If you want your garden to grow, you must hoe it. You must fertilize it. You must plant it. You must water it. You must tend to it. It’s a lot of work and sacrifice. It doesn’t just happen by itself. I know everyone wants to eat and eat it now but you have no right to pick the fruits from the gardens of others. You must become your own gardener and learn to grow your own food. That’s life. The problem is…all mommies and daddies didn’t teach their children to become gardeners.
Pretty much common knowledge by now.
Where did you acquire that knowledge?

This has literally been the case throughout all of history.
None of this is new.
It is just the most recent moral panic.
I review MSNBC and some other lib publications.
Does the Woke religion’s orthodoxy employ an oral tradition, then? Based entirely on media?
We didn’t use to cancel each other or at least in my lifetime for opposing views. What happened to “I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It”.
When did that change to “I don’t like what you say now I am going to do everything to get you de platformed and fired from your job”.

The I will defend your right to say it thing has been an ideal but nothing more.
Deplatforming is a silly argument because no one has the right to someone else’s platform.
People have been fired for their speech and thought for quite a while now.
The targets just keep changing.
None of this is new.
The targets might be but the existence of “cancel” isn’t.
There is only one true religion.
It seems even famed leftist Norm Chomsky is agreeing with what I’m saying and how big of a problem it is. 150 signatures from all leftwing professors, thinkers, writers and some entertainers signed a letter to stop the cancel culture and the war on free speech. These are hardily right wing people gives me hope.

So what?
JK Rowling said something that a lot of her fan base disagree with.
They don’t have to buy her products anymore.
She has free speech. That doesn’t mean that people have to support her for it anymore.
Capitalism and such.
