There is not violence against women and minority groups in Central America? And that is not a factor in immigration?

How many have fled because of this? In order to make such a statement, Kamala would need access to the stats. Why is she holding back? And why do you believe her without real numbers?

Who know? Kamala won’t say.

Yeah, you think you know but you don’t

Your posts make it obvious

Back up your claim that indigenous people don’t have it better here then there and maybe you won’t be so exposed

Some, no more than here and probably less.

No.

No she did not. You cannot make this determination with just a phone call. Without any supporting data, why do you believe that racial oppression is a factor? Especially when there is basically only one race? Brown. The migrants are mainly brown. Just look at some pics. Are the blacks oppressing the browns?

Speaking of obvious.

I lived there for 25 years and worked there for another 10, including dealing with Indians. Teribes, Kuna, several in Ecuador. Did a lot of soldiering in Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

You might want to visit a rez here if you think they have respect and benefits.

Oh, and you might want to go to the border and see who the illegals actually are.

Several of those countries have very good family advocacy organizations. Usually called some form of “bienestar familiar”. Family welfare.

They are not fleeing from, they are running to.

Everybody knows that. But only half will say it. Kammy has said some really idiotic things in the past. But claiming that these people are being driven north due to racism might be at the top of the list. Especially since she seems to think that only white folk can be racist.

It’s not idiotic, it’s the narrative.

[quote=“WuWei, post:74, topic:239030, full:true”]

It’s an idiotic narrative. She didn’t think it through. She forgot that these countries are made up entirely of black and brown people who can only be victims, not oppressors.

How many generations have to pass before one is considered “indigenous”? What is the criteria for this identity?

Asylum seekers is the running narrative being used to describe those who are coming here.

I agree.

Harris didn’t say violence against women/minority groups was a major factor in immigration, just that it was one of the factors.

Ok, but it’s not.

Human Rights Watch has documented cases of LGBTQ people from Central and Latin America fleeing their country because of persecution.
