It’s not static. (The GOP understands this much better than Democrats). And gay marriage is now overwhelmingly accepted in the US. You can tell, in part, because we don’t even talk about it much anymore.
I couldn’t care less about gay marriage. There is no victim. I spend zero time thinking about Jeff and Patrick down the street. It’s not my business. Now, letting men dominate women in sports and steal their opportunities creates many victims and is clearly a civil rights violation. And it’s just bizarre to claim that biology means nothing.
But that’s sort of my point. Fear-mongering about gay marriage was a big winner for the GOP 20+ years ago. It wasn’t some marginal issue; it was regular topic here when I joined in 2004.
President Bush wanted a constitutional amendment “protecting” marriage.
I believe you don’t care.
I also believe in 20 years, relatively few people will care about topics like this thread for the same reason.
