The con man is doing a masterful job of attacking the media. I think he just sensed what inflames republicans and has been repeating that stuff ever since.
So the Donald lied, errr exagerated errr whatever. To be fair, it isn’t like this was some sort of anomaly. Politicians lie, every one of them. The only difference between Trump’s lies and most of the other politicians is the speed and frequency that he does it.
At the end of the day though, Trump supporters don’t care if he lies.

He’s reaching his support base on an emotional level, not an intellectual one, obviously. In fact, it’s just the opposite…attacking the educated and “elites” that have always made them feel inferior. The fact that much of what he says is divorced from reality is irrelevant to them. The point is they feel he’s on “their team” and gives them some vicarious power and a feeling of potency they’ve never had before.
The entertainment value for me comes in listening to reasonably intelligent republicans and commentators trying to defend the â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– he spews on a daily basis.
