My Priest growing up attended school in Rome it wasn’t uncommon for them to have angry shouting matches when it comes to theology and proper teaching of the church based on what school of theology they are studying.

Are you a fair judge of facts? Is it fair to interpret figurative language referring to the violence one receives because of a religious belief, to a personal struggle with homosexuality?

I believe that, there is a wide diversity of thought among priests and scholars. But there is a limit, an umbrella they must remain under or be cast out. The pope is perilously close to breaching that line. In effect, he is declaring RCC tradition wrong until now. That’s unacceptable to those who believe the Magisterium is infallible.

There are two magisterium’s in the Roman Catholic tradition, the “Solemn Magisterium” (official pronouncements on doctrine by popes, bishops, councils and “Ordinary Magisterium” which is the practice of the church worldwide.

You cannot find God making people gay, in either of those magisteriums.
