The fact is that education and healthcare are the two most expensive aspects of American life, and this notion that the American taxpayer should be responsible to pay the costs of that for any and every person who gets on on our soil is insane and economically unsustainable.

I can see why this might be a problem if we are primary funding schools via property taxes and many immigrants are probably living in low-income areas. Sounds like another reason why we should overhaul how we fund our public school system.

The money’s got to come from somewhere. It’s not like the people who pay property taxes wouldn’t pay another type of tax. One way or another flooding our schools with illegal immigrant children is a tax on Americans. And in a state like NJ it costs over $30,000 on average to educate an illegal immigrant child. Then when you factor in healthcare, housing, meals, etc., it’s more like over $50,000. So the fact is that Democrats are indeed raising taxes on the middleclass.

My point is that school funding allocation shouldn’t be more equal and less dependent on the wealth of the area.

If their parents could work legally they could earn money to pay for healthcare, housing, meals, etc… and pay taxes into the system.

Could they?

In NJ it is as the state provides the additional funding.

Not to mention, impoverished inner city schools are typically better funded, spend more per student then wealthier districts, for much worse results. Because money, isn’t the problem, parents are.

The public school my kids went to spent on the very low side of the pack and had stellar results.

Think of the United States as being a yuuuuuuuuuuuuge wagon that must be pulled by it’s horses, which are the tax payers. Having enough strength to pull it allows some who are elderly or disabled in some way to ride. There is a balance in who can ride relative to the pulling power of our taxpaying citizens. When those that want to ride, exceed the weight limit of those pulling, the wagon then stops and “we” are doomed. Allowing people into our country that pull less than their own weight takes us closer and closer to that day.

Just for the record, Emma Lazarus, who wrote the words you mention which appear on the Statute of Liberty was a well-known socialist, and the “poem” which she wrote was suggested to be used to raise funds to build the statue’s pedestal.

Additionally, immigrants coming to America who passed the statute on their way to Elis Island were not granted entry into the United States for a number of reasons. One reason to be rejected was the likelihood of becoming a ward of the state and a public burden.

Is it not reasonable for American Citizens to reject being made into tax slaves to support the economic needs of millions upon millions of foreigners who have entered our country illegally and legally?

So, now that we are more acquainted with historical facts, is it not in the best interests of the United States and her citizens for the Biden Administration to protect our borders and prevent an influx of the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low skilled, disease carrying and criminal populations of other countries?

I’m aware and I cry for my country. On the other hand, after you’ve given your very best efforts, it is now in The Lord’s hands and I have faith.

On a smaller scale I’m blessed with a beautiful wife of many, many years, adult children who are doing well and love their mother, grandchildren, a great family, many friends, you and Hannity Land and a super cool dog that is an excellent hunter. Life is good.
