Because he’s staying homeless to get the money

But he’d get the money based on his income anyway.

You don’t seem to want to listen to what he said. He told you he’s homeless to get the money. And 600$ buck won’t pay rent in SF>

If the incentive was survival, he’d work.

There are other programs to help with housing, but yes, its expensive to live here. But not being able to afford housing is not the same as being paid to remain homeless. He’s homeless because he doesn’t want to put the effort into not being homeless.

Exactly correct. It is an enabling

Because he doesn’t need to because they are paying him.

Would you rather he stayed in Texas? :sunglasses:

Irrelevant to the question at hand.

LOL I probably drink and smoke that a month.

He was free to stay here, we just aren’t going to pay him anything. He went to San Francisco because they are foolish enough to have a County level program that pays $619 dollars a month to anyone who is low income, including homeless drug addicts who refuse to make any effort to improve their own condition. It is called CAAP. Outside of San Francisco he doesn’t qualify for anything. He wouldn’t get CalWorks payments or Federal SSI benefits because being a homeless addict doesn’t qualify you for either. But in San Francisco he does qualify for the county CAAP payment. He also gets a free monthly MUNI pass, which allows him unlimited use of San Francisco public transportation on the tax payers dime.

Why wouldn’t he go to San Francisco, free money and transportation with absolutely no strings attached.

They were just quoting 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

That’s a lot of words replying to something that was essentially a joke.

It might have been a joke to you, but that fact that Texas doesn’t pay an able bodied vagrant to remain a vagrant, but San Francisco and Los Angles Counties do, is exactly why these bums are flocking to California.

Probably so. I’m aware of that verse.

It is especially well written. He that WILL not work…which means they are CHOOSING not to work.

Hearsay evidence is the best. Everyone knows that.

Allan

You can look up the San Francisco CAAP program on line, or is the San Francisco County government web site just hearsay about the program. All you have to do to receive the benefit is be there, be indigent, and not qualify for SSI or CalWORKS payments. So yes, they are subsidizing able bodied adults who refuse to work.

You live in NJ, like me, right? We have something similar to this here. I only know this because I work with people that have jobs handing out free money. In the state of NJ if you can prove you haven’t worked for 20 years, you will get an apartment fully furnished and spending money. And there are a lot of people claiming this. The workers wonder how the hell the state can afford it.

Well that’s just a bad plan.

LA County only pays them about $250 a month, that’s why they like San Francisco County more.
