Is Senator Rand Paul an enemy of the state?

What was the maximum penalty he would have faced if he had been found guilty?

If there’s an honest interest, all one has to do is query it…

Is it sheople food? Maybe…but IMO there is some truth in here that the January 6th protestors are being treated differently for some reason? The question I have is, why?

Sorry, but lousy conditions and poor treatment in jail is par for the course for everybody. You’ll find plenty of people in jail going through the same stuff who weren’t involved in any insurrections.

He faces 17 counts of violating the Espionage Act. Each count is a felony with a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, so he could easily spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted.

Ok…you don’t care.

I am quite interested in why Samsel’s lawyer didn’t take a picture of Samsel so we could see whether he has the facial injuries claimed.

That would be a good start.

I agree. Was he prohibited from bringing a camera?

Tell you what.

You guys will start being taken more seriously when you stop coming here day after day and try to minimize what happened at the Capitol.

It wasn’t just “peaceful protestors petitioning their government for redress of grievances”.

It was spoiled ■■■■■■■■ who broke into Congress because they couldn’t stand that their guy lost.

And to minimize that is dangerous.

But of course I don’t expect any difference to this total inconsistency in your positions.

If it’s your guys, you scream bloody murder.

It it’s “others”…you’re all for “law and order”.

…do you have the same opinion of those who lied, with the sole intent of “maximizing” what happened?

There’s no maximizing what happened.

They tried to overturn an election because they were pissed off their guy lost.

That’s not just “normal protesting”.

And you’re only pissed at their alleged treatment because you’re on their side.

Really? Officer Sicknick was murdered by Trump supporters and Pelosi parading his coffin around to perpetuate her lies is your idea of truth?

They were using their first amendment rights:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The death of Officer Sicknick has been used as a pretext for FBI SWAT team arrests and for holding dozens without bail. It took months for federal authorities to admit that Sicknick died of natural causes. The original fake news that he died as result of injuries from an attack with a fire-extinguisher should have been obvious with even a quick examination of the body. Why did they slow-walk the truth?

Compare the FBI police-state tactics against the grandmas who took selfies at the Capitol to FBI ignoring of many months of BLM/Antifa violence that resulted in dozens of deaths and billions in damages. From what I see the biggest threat to democracy is state-supported terrorism by the FBI and its allies.

Repeated assassination attempts against Senator Paul are just the tip of the iceberg.

Oh, I do. But this kind of stuff has been going on forever. It only gets addressed when it happens to people that someone cares about.

Democrats spent 4 years trying to overturn the 2016 election. and they are still rioting and pissed off so …

Yes, and one of them attempted to assassinate the entire Republican congressional baseball team.

Americans have a diversity of opinions. The crowd at the Capitol on January 6 was no exception, but the vast majority were petitioning for a thorough review of dubious election results and procedures. Poor election security with the likely possibility of hacking was demonstrated in this New York Times video from 2018:

Nowadays any serious deviation from the state-approved party line is makes you an enemy of the state. The assassination attempts on Senator Paul fit that pattern.

Lol Mr. Bury ‘Em Under The Jail has a sudden change of heart when it’s people he agrees with politically.

You’ve spent a decade talking about how jail and prison should actually be far less pleasant than it is now.

Well, at least there is acknowledgement that our criminal justice system is broken

It was not a matter of trying to “overturn” an election. The election had not been certified at that time. That was the appropriate time to challenge the election.

I have seen video of the Democrats that challenged the 2016 election for several states.

Yes. Look at a Democrat cross-eyed, and you can be bullied.

Yes it was.

Sure it had, by all 50 states. In Congress the VP presided over what is largely a formality, he had no ability to stop it or challenge it, it wasn’t the “right time”, the toothpaste was out of the tube. The right time had long since sailed and to this day not a scintilla of evidence that it was anything but a clean and fair election.

Those people were there to overturn the results of that free and fair election and install their preferred losing candidate.
