…ignoring that most every instance you’d use as an example, begins with the disobeying of a direct police order, that dramatically increases the probability the officer will lose his life.

The guy walking away from a cop got shot in the back walking to the driver seat of his car. Either cop could have tackled him. Your position to “obey or else” is silly

Law and order … Like Seattle had before the “summer of love” and the defunding of their police department.

That’s moot. There are no Waffle Houses in Seattle. None in the state of Washington, in fact.

The canary in the coal mine for Seattle would be Starbucks.

To quit being leftist. It is they who crested this problem for Seattle.

Wow! That’s your metric?

Don’t worry Tommy. They just started getting serious about destroying their city two years ago. I’m sure they will be up to your standards in no time.

There ya go again … one example sets the rule. :smirk:

Well no. I just setting forth an example. Nobody said that this is common or prevalent. In fact all i did was describe an example. Why read things into posts?

Seattle’s police budget is $380 million.

How about police authorized to enforce laws and arrest lawbreakers? Here in Dallas the DA will not prosecute a theft of less than $750.

The policy is not charging a misdemeanor on people who have stolen below a certain threshold out of necessity.

It is kind of like maybe instead of spending a ton of money charging people and holding them kn jail for stealing food or diapers… maybe we as a society figure out how not to only punish people but help them provide for their needs.

Maybe.

Because if you stand back and read your post in context with the post you respond to as I did, that’s what you said.

So what? It’s obviously not enough to control the miscreants who have taken over the streets of the city. Have you been there recently? It’s like the streets of eighteenth century Calcutta

Yes … because they don’t have enough money in their budget.

Food or diapers. Exactly, the words used by the DA, so clearly this is an ideological mantra. No required evidence of intent to spend the money on food or diapers is evidenced by the DA statements.

Well…

That makes Amazon the condor in the coal mine.

Amazon set up shop in the war zone. They were bound to be the first to rake casualties. Google is next … they are in mid-town just north of the epicenter of deterioration.

Downtown Seattle in a few years. Prediction provided by the Last of Us Part II.
