If parents are willing to spend unlimited dollars for private K-12 schools why are the majority of students in public schools now? Your assumptions are false.
The number of private schools close to where they live are limited. Parents feel more comfortable sending their 18 year old 2000 miles away (for private school) vs their 9 year old.
However if vouchers work… the logical conclusion is that public schools will start to die and more private schools will pop up. That means less “free” school options and more “paid” school options.

Change one variable…
That would be true but… government.
Government would be just as involved. The voucher money is coming from the government and they would be giving out more than anyone family put in. Government would also be involved in providing student loans to parent to cover the difference in price for a private school.

Missed the point completely. Is it intentional?
Public schools don’t have to “die.” The government doesn’t have to operate on a profit or even a standard. And it can take indefinitely.
Where would it get the funds to run an empty school?(assuming vouchers are a success) The infrastructure costs are fixed.
This would grow the government even more. Maintain public schools at half capacity or less AND giving out vouchers to students for more than they put in?
I’m still waiting for a voucher success story for any state or county that implemented it.

The Panda-Monia of 2020 really helped shed light on how stupid our education system is, and how superior school choice is.

If I still lived in one of those roach infested urban zoos, there’s no way I’d be negligent enough to let my child attend their schools.

Taxes. The only place it ever gets funds.

Well unless you paid for that, I’m certain you didn’t read it. But you gave me a breadcrumb to search and I found a few articles on the Milwaukee voucher system. Thanks you
Basically, no noticeable improvements and lots of fraud or low performing pop up schools just looking to make a quick dollar. Oh and tons of public school closures.
A 28 year experiment that doesn’t lead to better outcomes? To note a positive, they did see slightly higher graduation rates in private schools… however given that private schools self select who attends… it makes sense and is in line with other private schools across the country.
Just another of the wonderful aspects of collectivism for the pee-ons!

Maybe fewer students exposed to bullying?

Sound familiar?
I didn’t say it would be successful. I said your way failed. Time to try something new. Scientific method and stuff.

Failed for who? I can tell you right now there are public’s schools around me that are thriving and public schools where the kids I coach are located that are performing poorly.
I want those poor performing and poorly funded schools to do better. School choice doesn’t do that. It actually will do the opposite.

Only 15% of black 8th graders read at or above grade level.
About the same for math.
Failed the children.
How does school choice fix that?
When you hit rock bottom (as with Purp’s method) there’s no where to go but up.
What the teacher’s unions and purp object to is the idea of them losing Control of both pupils and parents.
