Maybe a better plan would have been for the leftist to agree to funding employment without all their wish list of dreams.
The dems could have gotten the 600 for the unemployed but they don’t really care about the unemployed they want to use the unemployed to get their leftist wish list passed.

Congress needs to repeal the National Emergencies Act of 1976. That law gives the President too much power and is very likely unconstitutional.

ITs soooo exhausting repeating myself. I already covered all of this.
Trump could have used the national defense production act in the same way he did to produce PPE, same way he is doing to produce chemicals for vaccines, he could have used it to get more tests produced and more labs. He could have used the same act and FEMA money to incentivies labs to produce more accurate tests faster to and to turn around the results faster as well as set up quick mobile testing units in the areas suffering outbreaks. He could have used the same act to reward big money and loans to companies and labs willing to do the work the same way they proposed doing it for Kodak to produce chemicals needed for meds.

Is that detail enough or do you need a power point as well?

And they did it without federal help but it took longer cause they had to start from scratch. Trump could have pushed this with all 50 govonors in april, but instead he kept telling people not to worry about it and “Anyone who wants a test, could get one” despite that being 100% untrue.
The results were states were in a holding pattern until the realized he wasnt doing anything and labs were not going to neoigate with 50 differnet states (and in the cases they did, states were bidding against each other).

Trump invoked the law . . . but to my knowledge didn’t use it against any companies. As long as a national energency remains declaired – it’s in effect. How big a shortage is there? Is there a need to FORCE private companies to start making stuff? Or is it like Utah and a lack of labs (you know, building, test equipment, qualifed personell to staff them)? How is Trump going to order new labs built, more testing equipment and more importantly, traind people to run them?

Where are the trained lab techs going to come from to staff these labs? Can’t create them out of thin air like supplies.

Your using up a lot of funds here. Equipment, labs, personell, R&D to get more accurate and faster tests. When does the money allocted by congress run out?

Again, small amount of money, HUGE wish list on your part. How you going to decid what gets priority?
Then nothing left over for emergency action like the president took on unemployent.

Read the artilce i linked. The Plan the Govs did is on a all inclusive quick test that can be done in a drs office. Yes -It would be a LOT of funds. agreed. Prob less then the EO’s and any bill would end up costing us and the money spent then prob would saves us 2x as much now.

I dont know the current shortage outside my state. I do know the NATIONAL avg to turn around testing is over 7 days now. So yeah -Turns out - Instead of spending months denying a issues exists and then in a panic trying to sign EO’s, you are better off planning ahead.
